ADRIÁN DEMOČ performed by MILAN PAĽA
Touches. Behind the Mirror is a composition by Slovak composer Adrián Demoč. This work, composed for violinist Milan Paľa, is a fragile, yet meaningful musical monolith. According to the author, it fulfills his desire for fragile and unhurried music, referring in many ways to Tarkovsky.

A broadcast dedicated to works in which composers literally play with sound. Listen to the enchanting Quadratura by Viera Janárčeková (played by Jozef Lupták) along with a selection from the Insect Hotel by Luxembourg composer Claude LENNERS. In this work, he draws inspiration not only from the fascinating world of insects, but also from the sonority of various world languages.

A celebration of the artistic work of Iva Bittová – a musician and actress whose multi-genre work touches the soul. Featuring Christmas carols from the album Ej, Gody nam nastałi, along with a selection from her international collaborations with Anil Eraslan, Paolo Angeli, and projects Angrusori, New Cicada Trio, and Evyian.

H. TAWFIQ, L. FELIPE R. SANTILLÁN & M. RATAJ
Three living composers from three continents of the world. The life journeys of the first two composers also reveal remarkable personal stories. Listen to the Stabat Mater by the Kurdish composer Hawar Tawfiq, who lives in the Netherlands, and the symphony by the Mexican Luis Felipe Ramírez Santillán, who works in Bratislava. The show will conclude with an electroacoustic composition by Michal Rataj, inspired by the pandemic isolation during Covid.

Young people and students calling for freedom and democracy played a key role in the Velvet Revolution. This episode of Nová Hudba Radia Devín is dedicated to the compositional work of three young composers, namely the music of Richard Grimm, Ian Mikyska, and Patrik Kak. They all were born in the 1990s, a time of new hope, newly won freedom, and at the same time a difficultly nascent democracy..
